The Art of Possible New Habits Neuroscience and the Power of Deliberate Action (Audible Audio Edition) Kate Tojeiro Right Recordings Books

How do I write this review? For “The Art of Possible” is not a book, it’s a workbook. Author Kate Tojeiro has drawn on her years of experience as an executive coach to develop a workbook that aims to help people reach their full potential.

I was inspired by the title for the author’s mantra could well be “everything’s possible”. Key to Tojeiro’s rationale is that top performing people in all walks of life become “comfortable with discomfort” or as one of the world’s leading sports-people recently said “I’m never OK with OK”.

The book is easy to read. As a workbook it’s well structured with questions throughout that leads one from expanding one’s view of what is possible through to developing (and sustaining) a personal development strategy. There are 18 chapters, each with a specific action required to help achieve your potential.

As someone who thrives on examples, I liked the author’s “discovery” of her own potential when attempting a trail bike (motor) through the rugged Pyrenees Mountains in France. I would have liked to have seen more examples in the early chapters of how others have responded or implemented answers to her questions although these became more prevalent in later chapters. I particularly liked the author’s treatment of “procrastination” (one of my weaknesses).

If you’re looking for advice on how to achieve the impossible this book is not for you. However, if you’re really prepared to work at achieving the impossible, get started with this book – everything’s possible!
